Kahle Lake , in western Pennsylvania is actually a reservoir. Kahle Lake is fed by Mill Creek and is located on the border of Venango and Clarion Counties. It’s not a very big lake with a normal surface area of 251 acres, but it is big enough to support a very healthy population of slab crappie and jumbo perch. The average depth of the lake is around 15 feet, but there are a few spots that are over 30 feet deep. There is an abundance of weed beds and structure that hold and protect fish from overfishing and offer challenges to even the most experienced angler.
Before the warm up and rain, there were four inches of ice and people were fishing. Some were catching. ;D The last I heard, Kahle had lost it's shore ice, but was still capped. Hopefully the low temps next week will freeze it back up enough to fish by next weekend.

As of yesterday, Kahle was still not a go. 2" of ice with about 3-4" of snow. Hopefully the snow doesn't keep it from making ice tonight. Temps are going to drop pretty low the next two days.

Kahle Lake has 5-6" of good, clear ice everywhere. I have had reports of some very nice fish being caught.

Just wondering why kahle is canceled. I had a lot of people rounded up to fish this. We already took work off for the weekend. The plan was to bring our families and the kids were so excited to be fishing too. Once again not sure why it was canceled. Hope pyme. Is still on. We will all be there.

My kids were really looking forward to the kids' tournament too. I told them about it a month ago and they've talked about it every day since then. There are a lot of Boyscouts that will be awfully disappointed as well.

I agree, what a shame. It would have been nice to have some notification. I wouldn't count to pymy either, it looks like anything outside of NY is cancelled. Figures.
Just can't seem to make a go of it in PA.

Yeah. Pymie is out of it too. As much time and effort as I put into this series it would have been nice to actually fish it.

Seriously pyme is canceled too. Does anybody know why. We have plenty of ice. That is 6 days vacation blown them. Those two tournaments I had a lot of people coming that had hotel rooms already. Plus the kids are going to be hurt. Was planning on going to two or three ny tourneys but this has left a sour taste in my mouth. Guess I better cancel my reservations and maybe get some money back. This sucks
